Think You Can! - Mixed Media Monday

Happy Monday all! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and a Happy Valentines Day!

I have a page from my Art Journal to share today for;
I based the page around a poem in a calligraphy quote book, which I found at a second-hand book store.  I know it will be used heaps in many future projects! I just tore it out, and continued to tear around the poem, and stuck it onto my page.

I used Dylusions colour sprays to colour my page, in pinks and purples.
I used one of the Jane Davenport face stencils to help me draw this face in profile, which I hope looks like a woman thinking. I used Gelatos and Big Brush markers to colour her.

I added some splatters using a stamp, and mini chevron stamping for interest and texture.
and added a stamped font title, which is what the poems main message is all about, to
"Think You Can!"

[Poem Text Below Picture]

Thinking by Walter D. Wintle
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't,
If you like to win, but you think you can't
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise,
You've just got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the one who thinks he can.

This poem is also known as "The Man Who Thinks He Can".

Isn't it a great poem, and so very true? I found it very inspirational! I really love creating pages in my Art Journal for inspiration, and positivity! I find it helps to lift me up in mood and spirit, to have profound words along with artwork I have created. It's great therapy to do, and look back through.

I hope you liked my page, I have more to share - I have been a bit of an art journaling fiend lately, so I will be back in a few days to share another! Thanks so much for stopping by and all of your wonderful supportive comments!
