Mixed Media Monday!For the last two years I've found it difficult to get creative and be inspired. I packed my craft stuff away and got on with life, mainly focusing on photography and self improvement. I always felt something missing though.<br />
<br />
I guess you could say I had quite a depressive slump. In January I had enough of myself (and had a few health scares) so I decided to join a gym, to get healthy and lose weight. So far I have lost 20 Kilograms (44 Pounds). It has done wonders for my health, but also my confidence and self-esteem, as well as my motivation. It also helped me feel ready to craft again.<br />
<br />
So I've set up an interim craft desk in my bedroom until I can get a better system sorted out.<br />
<br />
I did my first mixed media art journal page last night:<br />
<br />

<br />
I'm a little Rusty, but I hope it's not terrible! My Inspiration for this piece was from a Mood Board over at <a href="https://deedeecatron.blogspot.com.au/2017/08/siren-mixed-media-tag-our-mixed-media.html" target="_blank">Our Mixed Media Moods</a> and their group on facebook, it had a great beachy theme which really spoke to me, since I live near the ocean! <br />

I'm slowing selling off a few things I know I'll never use - but am still hanging onto a lot of stuff, in the hopes that my craft mojo might return... But it's honestly looking less and less likely.<br />
<br />
I don't want to depress you, so I would like to mention that I still intend to send out Christmas cards to all my blog-friends! They won't be homemade but they will be Aussie themed!<br />
<br />
So if you could please drop me an email with your address, that would be fantastic!<br />
<br />
You can email me at: emuupagumtree@gmail.com<br />
<br />
I hope to send them out before the last week of November to they can make it around the world in time!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.kegel8.co.uk/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/7-weeks-to-christmas.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.kegel8.co.uk/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/7-weeks-to-christmas.jpg" /></a></div>
Did you know it's only 7 WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS? So do get and email me, and get ready for the silly season!<br />

<br />
I have a page from my Art Journal to share again, for Mixed Media Monday.<br />
<br />
Check it out:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSxzbo-FrxUR0OfoEnedJtGF4ERPIocVeB-bw_dO2ozwGgYRfmvr1SPc8ZfHhfcQP5GRLB9-LM66OvfTVMwtABdDg6Mc-d5V3dOu6jELv90FRrrjNRoxM6g-UfpabwEBhCTqZseI5AM7U/s1600/IMG_5146.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSxzbo-FrxUR0OfoEnedJtGF4ERPIocVeB-bw_dO2ozwGgYRfmvr1SPc8ZfHhfcQP5GRLB9-LM66OvfTVMwtABdDg6Mc-d5V3dOu6jELv90FRrrjNRoxM6g-UfpabwEBhCTqZseI5AM7U/s1600/IMG_5146.JPG" height="640" width="462" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A very blue page, done with Dylusions sprays first off. Then I used a damask stencil and sprayed through using white Dylusions spray. I used a female figure stencil and stamped through it with a damask background stamp. I also went around and outlined it with black and white Big Brush markers.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDvv_Q38kn8BWS7xg9ZzaIvRqmqz1jgZO9mp1TBwsPCg-4O4H2gsLWNOUBIR_AvvgS9BAvFFqHShimBftj6LH414lZG4BRWRoqs1vYsvHdxNCjzBIGTcBPMLylA2BNn9amv8AF3Z0c9_w/s1600/IMG_5149.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDvv_Q38kn8BWS7xg9ZzaIvRqmqz1jgZO9mp1TBwsPCg-4O4H2gsLWNOUBIR_AvvgS9BAvFFqHShimBftj6LH414lZG4BRWRoqs1vYsvHdxNCjzBIGTcBPMLylA2BNn9amv8AF3Z0c9_w/s1600/IMG_5149.JPG" height="640" width="466" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then it was just a matter of using some other texture stamps in the background, and adding some further details in, like the 'bubbles' up the side and top. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Which tied in with my letters that are round rub-ons which spell out<br /><br />BE FEARLESS.</div>

Hi Friends! It's a bright new week, which means it's time to see another page from my Art Journal. It's Mixed Media Monday time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpp1nGYTts1syyiccgyomlHYAKopKiTUzpin7GPr2vN6P5Ue6lVgAeZqd7nhXDQ4_5eOm1hBc-msrXF1wK8qD_CeQCExWz37crd1oXCvtKALQjlRRcDAZxF54jZVqpa4Z54Yq_sa_0jKg/s1600/IMG_5063.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpp1nGYTts1syyiccgyomlHYAKopKiTUzpin7GPr2vN6P5Ue6lVgAeZqd7nhXDQ4_5eOm1hBc-msrXF1wK8qD_CeQCExWz37crd1oXCvtKALQjlRRcDAZxF54jZVqpa4Z54Yq_sa_0jKg/s1600/IMG_5063.JPG" height="456" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For this page I put down some of that meshy wall tape you can get from the hardware store. I thought it would give neat texture. I then went over it with Gesso and dried it. I sprayed some Dylusions spray inks onto my page, and blotted it off, to give it a more faded effect. I didn't blot the drips for the <i>pink</i> rain.<br />
<br />
I sprayed some white ink through a raindrop stencil, but it didn't come out that well. So I used some blue and purple inks with a dot stamp for added texture and interest.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTygv9PTdQgDDKL0Agfooyzx5YHZLpJ7yZ3DDmiwF3Cl46tE0JfG7lPys2slwcmxJDHfdu3CHxsyy736w81Klm8subf7vk0IXWJNsc33zxKKrPQq7JRdCSsfFD2h-kq0x2HX0cE1jPFkc/s1600/IMG_5064.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTygv9PTdQgDDKL0Agfooyzx5YHZLpJ7yZ3DDmiwF3Cl46tE0JfG7lPys2slwcmxJDHfdu3CHxsyy736w81Klm8subf7vk0IXWJNsc33zxKKrPQq7JRdCSsfFD2h-kq0x2HX0cE1jPFkc/s1600/IMG_5064.JPG" height="466" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
For my figure in a rainbow, rainboots and umbrella I used some papers I made on my Gelli Plate. Which is a new purchase I made. Wow it's so fun! A great way to make neat papers with lots of textures for my Mixed Media work. I simply drew the shapes on the papers and cut them out and inked around the edges, and added some detail with big brush markers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWj5sptkXqKOOj0wD-Zk0ukyZDOB24_QId3Xe4zf29r3w-muzU-p9XrmLj-JeZ2wgM7k37pN1SlU2ZbDVySe0H-G1byWsSzoQNvCjD_o0uwKXDDxAemUient3Z659iQ0kXLPACInJte4/s1600/IMG_5067.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSWj5sptkXqKOOj0wD-Zk0ukyZDOB24_QId3Xe4zf29r3w-muzU-p9XrmLj-JeZ2wgM7k37pN1SlU2ZbDVySe0H-G1byWsSzoQNvCjD_o0uwKXDDxAemUient3Z659iQ0kXLPACInJte4/s1600/IMG_5067.JPG" height="400" width="360" /></a></div>
<br />
For the flower I used texture paste through a stencil that I heat zapped, and them went over with Faber-Castell Big Brush markers. I liked the idea of the raincoat figure <i>sharing</i> the umbrella with the flower.<br />
<br />
Which brings me to my quote:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU_b5rSMUp3bBIP9260BUnJsTBXhMzz29_jSE8ar0uMHJVTJ4_62x2lGxhu98ZPi7GjnqUQpp4qYlUwcKxRUYplOHot5WKt2I_QG_r9dDFkwVdFaP2fLizWDApjuRz2bKzcQsDCxEOMiI/s1600/IMG_5066.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU_b5rSMUp3bBIP9260BUnJsTBXhMzz29_jSE8ar0uMHJVTJ4_62x2lGxhu98ZPi7GjnqUQpp4qYlUwcKxRUYplOHot5WKt2I_QG_r9dDFkwVdFaP2fLizWDApjuRz2bKzcQsDCxEOMiI/s1600/IMG_5066.JPG" height="395" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Isn't that so true?</div>
<br />
So Thank You for being my umbrella dear friends, and I hope you liked seeing my page today. Thanks so much for stopping by and all your lovely comments!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I just started with scraps of patterned paper, some had flower punchouts in them, and I just collaged them down onto my page to cover the whole thing. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I then went in with some love themed painterly rub-ons I had in stash for these squares of colour and hearts and sentiments. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Also some flower and butterfly rub-ons. </div>

I've been a bit ill for the past week and a half, but thankfully I'm feeling better now.<br />
<br />
So I have a page from my Art Journal to share:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3cvPlh7GmO8Iq4buccShMncRjU2dBmZkRui0uDfc8YokLq90QmcjCJ9ix4rIoxT5VhR0U81bmwZOSLBR-z-aYCveDMVMiOs53Hq8CBYpC7MQI42YU5JKNiTsHdEy_5VHMQLo2lOWJgBg/s1600/IMG_5052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3cvPlh7GmO8Iq4buccShMncRjU2dBmZkRui0uDfc8YokLq90QmcjCJ9ix4rIoxT5VhR0U81bmwZOSLBR-z-aYCveDMVMiOs53Hq8CBYpC7MQI42YU5JKNiTsHdEy_5VHMQLo2lOWJgBg/s1600/IMG_5052.JPG" height="640" width="472" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just a painted background with some stamping, and the figures are a dylusions stencil sponged with some paint. I like the bubbly texture effect the sponge I used made. All the leaves were fussy cut. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwIgYYwAywLeHWDOpy_gMRX-id1sQcUZVkigi5jzcNQeGuRBjnLbpIIWQZNADn6LlkG0a8ao4RJ3ZRheB-m8m6x0ZG6iExb0iakUQQ0B9qvNrGeCNsK6zRgAEbuvXEzBiIEBlRMONyzt0/s1600/IMG_5055.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwIgYYwAywLeHWDOpy_gMRX-id1sQcUZVkigi5jzcNQeGuRBjnLbpIIWQZNADn6LlkG0a8ao4RJ3ZRheB-m8m6x0ZG6iExb0iakUQQ0B9qvNrGeCNsK6zRgAEbuvXEzBiIEBlRMONyzt0/s1600/IMG_5055.JPG" height="611" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'll just keep it short and sweet. Any questions let me know. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thanks for stopping by. </div>

Good Morning all, time for a new Mixed Media page from my Art Journal.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a page I wasn't entirely happy with, mainly because it was done in a cheap journal with thin paper and everything just reacted differently on it. But I figured it was worth sharing anyway. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_4ACeKu0Erwkx93ZfqGhH8UDJsfIeLRS-L1weD5c2txrgx1LwkiOuUd0b946WJOjGkkgHe7ZUJZpW2e7mcAbhrdfm-i7varhpwJ59XPpB_RJqPPnhYzKWdeLw0vZVjN4b5NhisB7FnY4/s1600/WP_20140606_11_47_00_Pro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_4ACeKu0Erwkx93ZfqGhH8UDJsfIeLRS-L1weD5c2txrgx1LwkiOuUd0b946WJOjGkkgHe7ZUJZpW2e7mcAbhrdfm-i7varhpwJ59XPpB_RJqPPnhYzKWdeLw0vZVjN4b5NhisB7FnY4/s1600/WP_20140606_11_47_00_Pro.jpg" height="400" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />I really loved this quote I came across for this piece: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5_CLfEoac1xIdI2QwHapqUEbxsST08JiKAN7y0Q47-R3Jl_Za8pKB2OrfcHgfg31Wqli0BJxkwf3SoAjx6qT-X8DfcUKtpoKAx0Djt1Hvb3CHcOxYwQVenTzJcHaNTHYlnwrAmbaXOyY/s1600/IMG_5014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5_CLfEoac1xIdI2QwHapqUEbxsST08JiKAN7y0Q47-R3Jl_Za8pKB2OrfcHgfg31Wqli0BJxkwf3SoAjx6qT-X8DfcUKtpoKAx0Djt1Hvb3CHcOxYwQVenTzJcHaNTHYlnwrAmbaXOyY/s1600/IMG_5014.JPG" height="640" width="464" /></a><br /><br />It was done with various paints and stamping for the background, the lady's head is a wood stamp from my stash, and I drew in a body and coloured and painted it with big brush markers. <br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ9nZHWHRWVDuSkC0k1pwR-d3BkevWBgI-CXQhqKgf_bXvIDVy1biqdxoiNiY0zNXzVfJpKaxR8VmFhsolT9F1eKkgF3t18_3FqkomjKW6MGNJbusUYQ1h99AUZ-5hRX9EU7VEoTYVOJU/s1600/IMG_5018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ9nZHWHRWVDuSkC0k1pwR-d3BkevWBgI-CXQhqKgf_bXvIDVy1biqdxoiNiY0zNXzVfJpKaxR8VmFhsolT9F1eKkgF3t18_3FqkomjKW6MGNJbusUYQ1h99AUZ-5hRX9EU7VEoTYVOJU/s1600/IMG_5018.JPG" height="400" width="321" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had a brilliant weekend, where I went to the local 'seaworld' type place and saw gorgeous seals, dolphins, penguins, turtles and fish. I will have photos to share soon.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In the meantime I hope you all had a brilliant weekend, too and have a brilliant new week, also! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I hope you have had a great week! I hope you might checkout my previous post for my Mixed Media Monday art journal page!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEiFdpjRKiqygTRHw6Zv_rHbkdIsZKFfayJ4M1E0Z3yJkt6yoP15hLj4_zd5joyRX0yrlZq1jDxRBkrwKYq5FeFots5O5wG9RhxPNQvDaD2l0qxXBwQv_moPUnzjAKqsPfjzjQnS1CQbA/s1600/tt10002692fltt.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEiFdpjRKiqygTRHw6Zv_rHbkdIsZKFfayJ4M1E0Z3yJkt6yoP15hLj4_zd5joyRX0yrlZq1jDxRBkrwKYq5FeFots5O5wG9RhxPNQvDaD2l0qxXBwQv_moPUnzjAKqsPfjzjQnS1CQbA/s1600/tt10002692fltt.gif" /></a></div>
Today I have some photos to share from a trip I took to the local aquarium. The <a href="http://solitaryislandsaquarium.com/" target="_blank">Solitary Islands Aquarium</a>. It's not huge, but not small either. Probably a dozen tanks, but there's still so much to see and lots of helpful knowledgeable staff that gave us lots of information, and even an hands on experience!<br />
<br />
We got to touch a starfish, a sea urchin and a sea cucumber:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10431819_1425954644345801_731205567_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10431819_1425954644345801_731205567_n.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Sorry this one's a little blurry - The starfish was harder and more 'rocky' feeling than I thought it would be, while the sea urchin was as expected, spikey! The sea cucumber was soft and velvety! <br />
<br />
One of my favourite things that we saw was a small snowflake eel;<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10375578_788862787799712_902834510_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10375578_788862787799712_902834510_n.jpg" /></a></div>
I don't know what it is another these guys, but I just find them so cool. Maybe it's because they look like they just told a funny joke and are awaiting the response?<br />
<br />
<br />
Another awesome thing we saw was a Marine Hermit Crab, different from the semi-land dwelling hermit crabs you might be used to, these type stay in the ocean, and amongst anemones.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10369371_248882868635308_1898130375_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10369371_248882868635308_1898130375_n.jpg" /></a></div>
This guy was enamoured with its reflection on the side of the tank, and one of the guides was telling us about how he places his favourite piece of round anemone on his shell, as part of its camouflage! When it changes shells, it will take off the anemone from this shell, and stick it onto it's new shell! Just like us moving home I guess.<br />
<br />
<br />
Yet another amazing creature was this beautiful Octopus:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-frc/t51.2885-15/10401625_640456876032255_189210770_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-a.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-frc/t51.2885-15/10401625_640456876032255_189210770_n.jpg" /></a></div>
He put on quite a show for us a few times - so I got video of him:<br />
<br />
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/-AIvNSgz0co" width="640"></iframe>
<br />
<br />
In one of the tanks there was a particularly beautiful starfish:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10414044_1403064776648496_846080132_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10414044_1403064776648496_846080132_n.jpg" /></a></div>
I just love the purple/blue with the deep red!<br />
<br />
A funny thing was, each time we went to that particular tank this starfish would be in a different spot - but we never actually saw it move! I kept waiting trying to witness it 'move' around! But it never did while I was watching! lol!<br />
<br />
Here's a pic I got of it's underside when it moved to the front of the tank:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xpa1/t51.2885-15/928267_1430710033870725_565311020_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xpa1/t51.2885-15/928267_1430710033870725_565311020_n.jpg" /></a></div>
I love the detail on this shot.<br />
<br />
<br />
Of course there were clownfish and anemones:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10362204_1400731576881835_422478208_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xap1/t51.2885-15/10362204_1400731576881835_422478208_n.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
and some other fish, starfish and urchins - this urchin was called a lamington urchin, like the coconut covered choc-dipped cake! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfp1/t51.2885-15/10449058_478995305577550_245723676_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://scontent-b.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfp1/t51.2885-15/10449058_478995305577550_245723676_n.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Good Morning friends! I have some Art Journaling / Mixed Media work to show you, that I created.<br />
<br />
I recently got a new Dylusions journal, the pages are thick and stand upto lots of paint, spray, ink and water, and don't warp like my old journal did! So I'm really happy with it.<br />
<br />
Here's my first double page from it: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPCaDPRkRUsQrKNR9PppbDuu9sMDRdjEyAe44SDKuYNxrdzU47F0L8zeVxT2b0CESNNUhfCHWzrs0E-cpOI57deJOwJtX4FQWflgfoVEjFiouywIvWYhwFThyphenhyphenjrKngGzEw2bU1bp4JlQk/s1600/IMG_5021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPCaDPRkRUsQrKNR9PppbDuu9sMDRdjEyAe44SDKuYNxrdzU47F0L8zeVxT2b0CESNNUhfCHWzrs0E-cpOI57deJOwJtX4FQWflgfoVEjFiouywIvWYhwFThyphenhyphenjrKngGzEw2bU1bp4JlQk/s1600/IMG_5021.JPG" height="402" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
For this page I started with multiple colours of Dylusions spray inks, and just covered my page with them, and sandwhiched the pages together, to get even covering on both sides. I inked through a numbers stencil with black dylusions spray on a sponge. Then added washi tape, and lots of stamping, in white and other colours to form interest in my background.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My main focal image was this elephant I cutout from a magazine! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFzvBjidD2_MV97GfPMRxjagoQHI3hbQPA9PiZcLh-DNY11_ZjbXbvfWy69gQJ6i1lJUzo_UOaHskguXMpH3o9ER3k2E_U5b8Zv16eD4UMop2_kLhENN1cIV8iWBp83k1ufIlaNDAestM/s1600/IMG_5025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFzvBjidD2_MV97GfPMRxjagoQHI3hbQPA9PiZcLh-DNY11_ZjbXbvfWy69gQJ6i1lJUzo_UOaHskguXMpH3o9ER3k2E_U5b8Zv16eD4UMop2_kLhENN1cIV8iWBp83k1ufIlaNDAestM/s1600/IMG_5025.JPG" height="640" width="478" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found a couple of quotes I liked online and printed them out from Word, and clipped them to pop them onto my pages. Beforehand, though, I went in with some texture paste and paint mixed together and went over some stencil images as more focal points for my page. Such as the key, the hearts, and the large heart bottom left. </div>

It's been a very long time since I have shared with you my photos - so I think I should start doing it again! This weeks theme is 'Looking Skyward'.</div>

This week we had an amazing sunset here, it was talked about all over social media, and local news papers, websites and blogs! The sky was literally purple with pink fluffy clouds dissipating on the horizon! It was magical and unique - this photo even made it onto a local news site - so I was quite chuffed with that! <br />
<br />

Has it really been over a month since I have blogged anything?<br />
<br />
I have to admit to being in a bad creative funk for the longest time. I had found myself very disillusioned with the craft industry and people in it. I also became very frustrated at my attempts to create, all failing miserably! Which added to my funk.<br />
<br />
So, I have been concentrating on my photography, and other things in my life. But I did miss being creative with ink and paper, so thought it was time to get back to crafting, and attempted it again. <br />
<br />
I have managed to make a few Art Journal pages, and also a couple of tags. Today I will just show the tags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF49MVxTJcv9rfvjJZVYIECxURjD5mx391eBVZTs7C5Ldyyd_bXrLvob48V13_0WIA3_BEStvvOVf-DedUqqiOVg91c15AEDdG09h5t2if0PjOgU637dhBh2FQgys48QzB72_ZpFzKedI/s1600/IMG_4937.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF49MVxTJcv9rfvjJZVYIECxURjD5mx391eBVZTs7C5Ldyyd_bXrLvob48V13_0WIA3_BEStvvOVf-DedUqqiOVg91c15AEDdG09h5t2if0PjOgU637dhBh2FQgys48QzB72_ZpFzKedI/s1600/IMG_4937.JPG" height="387" width="400" /></a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The backgrounds were done with Dylusions sprays, on the right tag I put a leafy vine stencil on it and lightly spritz with some white spray ink, I flipped the stencil and put the excess white inked stencil onto the purple tag.<br /><br />And embossed diecut circle was lightly inked, and added this diecut vine to my tag.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The images are a cute fairy girl from a clear Penny Black set in my stash coloured with copics and fussy cut out.</div>

I have been keeping busy here on the home-front but this past weekend I decided to try a project I had seen on Youtube. A painting of some tree trunks on canvas, I used this tutorial:<br />

<br />
It was super easy to too, and looks effective on my wall in my craft room. I added some stamping to my background as you can see. A fun project that is great for anyone to try of any age, I highly recommend giving it a go yourself, I would love to see your versions!<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by!<br />

<br />
Hello Friends! I am so sorry for not being about on the blogs lately. I really don't have any good reasons for why, just that I am not spending much time online anymore, and I also am not spending much time crafting, either. <br /><br />Whether this changes anytime soon remains to be seen, but I wanted to take this chance to wish you all a very Happy Easter weekend with all of your family and friends, however you celebrate (or even if not). I hope it's a fun and relaxed weekend for you all, enjoy it whatever you are upto!<br />
<br />
Much Love, Take Care<br />Annmaree xoxo.Annmaree of Ozhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04224714814880675750noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7240875589454146314.post-44576651639423634622014-03-31T08:30:00.000+11:002014-03-31T08:30:00.297+11:00Stars - Mixed Media MondayHappy Monday, friends! That means it is time for another Mixed Media Monday.<br />
<br />
I am still participating in the <a href="http://journal52.com/blog/" target="_blank"><b>Journal52</b></a> Art Journal prompts, I am about 2 weeks behind but hope to get upto speed soon!<br />
<br />
Here is my page for Week 11's Prompt, which was <b><i><u>Stars: </u></i></b>to take inspiration from the nights sky.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000;"><i><b>Shoot for the moon, even if you miss - you'll land among stars.</b></i></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5hTDarbrbLVHj4bHtIErGm8hGzr_74JbKYFk2ARU4gXobPTYFXsM8OwtpTq5S__YksLk5eIhjBXx2E5hShbyPrhtVouWYHAVrMvTKlKaoLciSPXlEcr3tuCJFk8EOsgR41CjOYdc6Nbk/s1600/IMG_4472.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5hTDarbrbLVHj4bHtIErGm8hGzr_74JbKYFk2ARU4gXobPTYFXsM8OwtpTq5S__YksLk5eIhjBXx2E5hShbyPrhtVouWYHAVrMvTKlKaoLciSPXlEcr3tuCJFk8EOsgR41CjOYdc6Nbk/s1600/IMG_4472.JPG" height="476" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I started my going over my page in purple and then blue paints, the paints I used were quite thick and also had a metallic shimmer to them, which added to the night sky look.<br />
<br />
This next picture should show the metallic shimmer a bit more: <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPq0OGkhqchHLy_vshNzD1Ng7NZsdayVBGNef-PTo4acnKrquObZUGhu8iCh2USZf0jOo9wmXe79-15B4kWyPtS8VpZrNfGzlqk8GkiJvloqKT2yX3m8vVC0bqoxUoHLD68IMgJp3PBn0/s1600/IMG_4481.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPq0OGkhqchHLy_vshNzD1Ng7NZsdayVBGNef-PTo4acnKrquObZUGhu8iCh2USZf0jOo9wmXe79-15B4kWyPtS8VpZrNfGzlqk8GkiJvloqKT2yX3m8vVC0bqoxUoHLD68IMgJp3PBn0/s1600/IMG_4481.JPG" height="482" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used stencils and gold paint for my stars and free-hand painted the moon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The quote was printed from a free PDF Printable I got <a href="http://www.teachersnotebook.com/product/KTVee/bulletin-board-shoot-for-the-moon" target="_blank">HERE</a>. I just minimised the poster sized pages down to fit onto 1 A4/Letter sized page, and cut each word out with pinking scissors. I also water colour painted each cut-out word with blues and purples to give a bit of colour. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Just a simple page, but I am happy with the results and I love placing inspirational quotes in my Art Journal to reflect on at a later date.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to be back soon with some more artwork.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello friends! How are you this Monday? I have 3 pages to share with you from my Art Journal today, all as part of the challenges at <a href="http://journal52.com/blog/" target="_blank"><i><b>Journal52</b></i></a>, where each week we get a different prompt to creative with. Here are my pages for the prompts from weeks 8, 9 and 10. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Week 8 - Found Poetry</u></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this prompt it was suggested to use an old book page or magazine and highlight words in the text to use as the basis for your page, to create a poem or story. I clipped parts out of a book page and made up a bit of a story/scene. Then illustrated it.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIXh0cZmAKR0CO_N-5_xgMf1nnsZB0j27wgEhNH4xxJnXw_-mBj9KPyTPJITNbPdJ4TVsCUsYBf8x5_utVbDSkL91jyvqSXXO4rfCnqNQ6Zl7dUy9Z9K_xLhyphenhyphenOmbfTK0zaYE-7JVIwJEA/s1600/IMG_4192.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIXh0cZmAKR0CO_N-5_xgMf1nnsZB0j27wgEhNH4xxJnXw_-mBj9KPyTPJITNbPdJ4TVsCUsYBf8x5_utVbDSkL91jyvqSXXO4rfCnqNQ6Zl7dUy9Z9K_xLhyphenhyphenOmbfTK0zaYE-7JVIwJEA/s1600/IMG_4192.JPG" height="640" width="472" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The clippings say;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Overnight imagine escaping from the real world. A fairy story. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>A drumroll of thunder wakes me, go back to sleep. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I paper pieced the bed, pillow and blanket, and went around them with markers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The girl image is a stamp from Paperbag Studios. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I just used lots of random stamps from my stash in the 'dream bubble'. </div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Week 9 - Colour Swatch Inspiration</u><br />As you can guess, the inspiration was to come from colours. I used a Blue/Green/Yellow colour inspiration with a touch of purple and white. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This prompt was about causes that you are passionate about, or even to ask if there is a cause to your art/craft. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to embrace the reason why I make Art and Craft. <b><i> </i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i>'Cause it makes me happy!</i></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigKZ129zA9P9h1bpUAdC7Axwjah-O66RiaoMhHF5UlYdOhqvQyZsxvVXCUkdXRaqUB-UfSVLsoVPJ5u26k9RPWtfvdFwNoCDfPX3wwznmvvRipIf0jmC2bLOJPFwEPObJJcZOUQr9fF0M/s1600/IMG_4235.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigKZ129zA9P9h1bpUAdC7Axwjah-O66RiaoMhHF5UlYdOhqvQyZsxvVXCUkdXRaqUB-UfSVLsoVPJ5u26k9RPWtfvdFwNoCDfPX3wwznmvvRipIf0jmC2bLOJPFwEPObJJcZOUQr9fF0M/s1600/IMG_4235.JPG" height="358" width="400" /></a></div>
I used lots of bright colours for my background, and added some stencilling and doodling as well. I wanted this page to be bright and fun, and full of things that make me happy. Like rainbow colours, flowers and butterflies.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Apologies for that. But I have some photos to share from some trips to the beach I have took recently, which I thought you might like to see:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage3.s3.amazonaws.com/ecb835c8920d11e3ad98128766ce5f5f_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage3.s3.amazonaws.com/ecb835c8920d11e3ad98128766ce5f5f_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the main beach down at The Jetty here, you can see it's looking across toward the Jetty boardwalk that you can walk out on, and the Marina behind that. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/5f2ef992a1cd11e3b3c00e911c26a798_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/5f2ef992a1cd11e3b3c00e911c26a798_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
On the right side there is a rockwall/breakwall:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage3.s3.amazonaws.com/20348c429a8511e3bec90ed4edb1ed53_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage3.s3.amazonaws.com/20348c429a8511e3bec90ed4edb1ed53_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see there is a lot of neat plantlife growing along the beach here. They bloom with these beautiful pink flowers, which I discovered are called beach morning glory!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws.com/3b31c8f0a1bc11e3bfe40e0117d7f8d9_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage1.s3.amazonaws.com/3b31c8f0a1bc11e3bfe40e0117d7f8d9_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
It's amazing to me that they can grow so vigorously is the sand with the salt spray of the ocean and full sun - you wouldn't think much plant life could handle such environment, let alone one that gets such beautiful flowers: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/cdfc7d6699d211e383940ee0962af0a0_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage0.s3.amazonaws.com/cdfc7d6699d211e383940ee0962af0a0_8.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I so love going to the beach and communing with nature.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/9de481e89a8411e3917c12f5cf04aa7e_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/9de481e89a8411e3917c12f5cf04aa7e_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The small island you can see in this picture is called Muttonbird Island.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There's usually always some seagulls around...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/4f43e5dc98fa11e3a5e0128666df5ff2_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage2.s3.amazonaws.com/4f43e5dc98fa11e3a5e0128666df5ff2_8.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here are also two photos I got up around the Marina area, where on clear days you can see small and medium sized fish swimming about:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and last but not least, a neat boat, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
with a seabird trying to find a way to eat a rather large fish he found:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Close up of the seabird and his large fish:</div>

I hope you have had a great week since I checked in last. I have been keeping busy here, and should have some photos to share on Friday.<br />
<br />
But today, I have two pages from my Art Journal to share.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdikrJ2R4E4JA31XzTYE1ii3RgPwBkE9CuopHDBwD9Pn2-tH8N0aExUuayMIOxetsF3uMPtaE66s4NN0knvFZ8cbr6zvLewcZl8UD_M-cPGsxEGZF5x0tYAy5lZISuaohbdmiOeQ_smBs/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdikrJ2R4E4JA31XzTYE1ii3RgPwBkE9CuopHDBwD9Pn2-tH8N0aExUuayMIOxetsF3uMPtaE66s4NN0knvFZ8cbr6zvLewcZl8UD_M-cPGsxEGZF5x0tYAy5lZISuaohbdmiOeQ_smBs/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" height="71" width="400" /></a></div>
I did these as part of the challenges happening over at Journal52. Where we get a different prompt challenge each week. I'm a bit behind, and have 2 more challenge weeks to catch up on. But here are my pages for Weeks 6 and 7...<br />
<br />
<u>Week 6's Challenge was "Love Letters"</u><br /><br />I immediately envisioned a large envelope with lots of hearts flying out of it! So I went about putting that thought onto the page:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigL4vlFI5mzNxVRke8ZRVUccwzMHzKVwzUhcCbgCK1DZHWoiZFHLrRq5wISSjFnC9OCuZ1Zxdq5JBF2wub_T6fCGqTOWoDmCGxQbikKiuA5H_pfRFebyd2jLKqEqUMDr_tEQI-yx09HD0/s1600/IMG_4170.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigL4vlFI5mzNxVRke8ZRVUccwzMHzKVwzUhcCbgCK1DZHWoiZFHLrRq5wISSjFnC9OCuZ1Zxdq5JBF2wub_T6fCGqTOWoDmCGxQbikKiuA5H_pfRFebyd2jLKqEqUMDr_tEQI-yx09HD0/s1600/IMG_4170.JPG" height="640" width="476" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used paints and water to make a semi water-coloured pink background. I Sketched my envelope, and added script text stamping, and postage mark stamps on my background, to add to the letter theme. Coloured my envelope in with Gelatos and Big Brush markers, cut out my hearts with some book text, and coloured them the same, and outlined them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4lTiP1Ut0lLPeWYVqy5jKQCHmnZ2r5bFPq6WDM_UcuBMXlC0gOnT6H8rbGjq5ubDqx77f6rAdu-NOnMpeIQBbTHjGNrVH_iL3o0p4eHBBeO9cmPOtI09VUFd6n9-ET-zFdCPUMy7d1-Y/s1600/IMG_4173.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4lTiP1Ut0lLPeWYVqy5jKQCHmnZ2r5bFPq6WDM_UcuBMXlC0gOnT6H8rbGjq5ubDqx77f6rAdu-NOnMpeIQBbTHjGNrVH_iL3o0p4eHBBeO9cmPOtI09VUFd6n9-ET-zFdCPUMy7d1-Y/s1600/IMG_4173.JPG" height="504" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was going to find a quote about love letters to put on the page, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
but I couldn't find one I liked, so just left it as is. </div>
<br />
<u>Week 7's Challenge was "When I grow up"</u><br />
<br />I struggled with this one, and didn't know what to do for the theme. I decided to start with just a blank face, and try and build from there. Well after that, I came up with the idea to create a 'Pierrot' clown. In completion, I felt the character looked quite forlorn compared to the zany outfit. I tried to find a quote to express the contrast of the happy clown facade we put on, especially as adults, compared to the (sometimes) opposing reality. So I just made up my own quote to tie-in the theme.<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyZDCVnGuOQJSRVntI3WwFhhTevOFgeY2SKw5J2wwYv1Mq35nLC0Eac6_-ibKT9YGAD3tii8xdpWU_NsBUKn1BEQZxDYyfUE9pDaboFi5KFdDGkSmgqwJUZXKR1HTghs9iM9JV2YMrJTM/s1600/IMG_4174.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyZDCVnGuOQJSRVntI3WwFhhTevOFgeY2SKw5J2wwYv1Mq35nLC0Eac6_-ibKT9YGAD3tii8xdpWU_NsBUKn1BEQZxDYyfUE9pDaboFi5KFdDGkSmgqwJUZXKR1HTghs9iM9JV2YMrJTM/s1600/IMG_4174.JPG" height="640" width="470" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I kept my background simple, just painting through a arrow/triangle stencil, </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and doodling around them when the paint dried. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNpgiqje2OFm6-fT7pXNOHsPSROQt-ZmU48DxSQyWWKeMz-W8427dEcY0uQazpgmA5vh2Cz9TxX6xwQzoohyEQJzy758j8Q_uM8EvbPBeH1cZq4yeMKKc03kk2mB5A40SCfURYlqcNHw4/s1600/IMG_4175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNpgiqje2OFm6-fT7pXNOHsPSROQt-ZmU48DxSQyWWKeMz-W8427dEcY0uQazpgmA5vh2Cz9TxX6xwQzoohyEQJzy758j8Q_uM8EvbPBeH1cZq4yeMKKc03kk2mB5A40SCfURYlqcNHw4/s1600/IMG_4175.JPG" height="596" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Happy Monday, friends! How has your week been? Great I hope!<br />
<br />
I had a fun weekend, I took my mother to a concert here, to see 60's British beat band "The Searchers". It was great! They are still very talented and have the 'it' factor, and obviously really enjoy themselves. There were at least 600 people in the auditorium, and we had front row seats. My Mum thoroughly enjoyed it, clapping and singing along, and I did too! It went for over 2 hours, and they shared a lot of stories about their history, and had everyone laughing all night, as well!. It was so entertaining!<br />
Their hits include "Sweets for my Sweet", "Sugar and Spice", "Needles and Pins", "Don't Throw Your Love Away", "When You Walk In The Room" and "Love Potion No. 9". Which they performed all of them, and many more. It really was a great, fun night! I'm glad me and Mum got to go and enjoy it! I did take some photos and a bit of Video on my mobile, but they aren't the best;<br />

Now, onto my main reason for this post - my page for Mixed Media Monday! <br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWqtd0qHU_uOb21Ek9P4w1mAHG-zUx1E5KyWRcyrM71pu9S6Y8IVWiQE4GCbsU8zzWozZ4J08FMV1YX32nqHU2KAJVqysNjeygEk9zmQHsiqvNWUUx7kldwx9S0KN1A6hL9e37WotxocI/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWqtd0qHU_uOb21Ek9P4w1mAHG-zUx1E5KyWRcyrM71pu9S6Y8IVWiQE4GCbsU8zzWozZ4J08FMV1YX32nqHU2KAJVqysNjeygEk9zmQHsiqvNWUUx7kldwx9S0KN1A6hL9e37WotxocI/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<u><br /></u>My background was made using a combination of paints and Dylusions sprays. I used a raindrop stencil and sprayed white Mr Huey spray over it for the raindrops. I did some stamping to give more texture to my background, and then stamped this Unity Stamp Co girl by Christy Tomlinson called "She Leaped"<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9AvmffjvzzKi8B5hT2k_GcRiKwMaSrRbnTpBborzJB-NBIHV7vfJvZ3Qz25kHxCBlKamCgHeh813AW99zyGdFPzCw3XtZg3ZZIereBw5-YKP6HSlVNMcFV8OJ4IMMICbb3kGIK8qeh7M/s1600/IMG_3965.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9AvmffjvzzKi8B5hT2k_GcRiKwMaSrRbnTpBborzJB-NBIHV7vfJvZ3Qz25kHxCBlKamCgHeh813AW99zyGdFPzCw3XtZg3ZZIereBw5-YKP6HSlVNMcFV8OJ4IMMICbb3kGIK8qeh7M/s1600/IMG_3965.JPG" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />I coloured the girl in with some faber-castell gelatos, and also big brush markers. <br /><br />I used excerpts from a poem, that I found in a Calligraphy book, that I found to be very dreamy and inspiring! The original poem is called <a href="http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Arrow_and_the_Song" target="_blank"><i>"The Arrow and the Song"</i></a> by <span itemscope="" itemtype="http://schema.org/CreativeWork">Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.<br /><br />Here is the excepts I used:</span><br /><br /><i>"I breathed a song into the air,<br />It fell to earth, I know not where;<br />The song from beginning to end,</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I found again in the heart of a friend."</i></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjET48tmPL0u8Yi59ExO2TR5y6h4MQO9rGmDINooYRW4kpCOCYS9EqzgloMyVOJ5IoqqiY3J4zi7IN0DFdWMY1SHUGuj2qz-bb1auaM69uEUpdtTCJ2ZPo5oqnjsD3zAA631-BPwTYXu6U/s1600/IMG_3967.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjET48tmPL0u8Yi59ExO2TR5y6h4MQO9rGmDINooYRW4kpCOCYS9EqzgloMyVOJ5IoqqiY3J4zi7IN0DFdWMY1SHUGuj2qz-bb1auaM69uEUpdtTCJ2ZPo5oqnjsD3zAA631-BPwTYXu6U/s1600/IMG_3967.JPG" height="640" width="550" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />I added a heart to my stamped girl, to relate back to the poem, and lastly added the bird made from bookpaper, with musical notes falling down for the "song" that fell to earth.<br /><br /> <img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgikCDKHD0u6h37wfx0SkFm3BmGa79BbffuPO2C2XOYupH5lVZn-wbW7aP-q7DCjWgcKfPWd0FtmGhawBAgV4we0zTZRmFUb-ytMHipmABirmgi9RxW-p0DOst9alon972ZzLVCAtxwBog/s1600/IMG_3966.JPG" height="300" width="400" /><br /><br />I'm really please with how this page came out, and I hope you like it, too! <br /><br />Thanks so much for stopping by this Monday!</div>

Happy Monday all! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and a Happy Valentines Day!<br />
<br />
I have a page from my Art Journal to share today for; <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9rqnOrAPZW6QtQihty8lD-C_p0U_c7lNyfVCRTHCaJC1MfkV79cW8CQfFK4XcoCiOpNdTk_YMachWZgNq_AWUxIXm6Wk5CYnVgks7EKf2WQLPRP_cxCUyJGXsZym8i2CYcFGfH_3yVrE/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9rqnOrAPZW6QtQihty8lD-C_p0U_c7lNyfVCRTHCaJC1MfkV79cW8CQfFK4XcoCiOpNdTk_YMachWZgNq_AWUxIXm6Wk5CYnVgks7EKf2WQLPRP_cxCUyJGXsZym8i2CYcFGfH_3yVrE/s1600/tt10008503fltt.gif" /></a></div>
I based the page around a poem in a calligraphy quote book, which I found at a second-hand book store. I know it will be used heaps in many future projects! I just tore it out, and continued to tear around the poem, and stuck it onto my page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDHheOivhYRll7IgrrOtN97UKtYHaAWKiPSfclQK8cSMiWyMx71e44rkXT3CnL9UJU6OM2OmXYNvVsX2YdaHT12SzshiU9egT_6-j6duGtD5una1hvze9EFkUP_d7JJM43KALyMxABcXE/s1600/IMG_3931.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDHheOivhYRll7IgrrOtN97UKtYHaAWKiPSfclQK8cSMiWyMx71e44rkXT3CnL9UJU6OM2OmXYNvVsX2YdaHT12SzshiU9egT_6-j6duGtD5una1hvze9EFkUP_d7JJM43KALyMxABcXE/s1600/IMG_3931.JPG" height="640" width="478" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used Dylusions colour sprays to colour my page, in pinks and purples.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used one of the Jane Davenport face stencils to help me draw this face in profile, which I hope looks like a woman thinking. I used Gelatos and Big Brush markers to colour her.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihySTAyHoAaGBTAMEeabHxU4umcWg7xthlQSZNS-N_9tRTtYP1vHQlFPa7NRhSnIEhFjtMxbVAXiZ9auUkLhNAwy6DNPBpswA2eUJJ7zYdf_-IrM3oMREqEJkHNx4PwqTc9zRlr9BUsZc/s1600/IMG_3934.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihySTAyHoAaGBTAMEeabHxU4umcWg7xthlQSZNS-N_9tRTtYP1vHQlFPa7NRhSnIEhFjtMxbVAXiZ9auUkLhNAwy6DNPBpswA2eUJJ7zYdf_-IrM3oMREqEJkHNx4PwqTc9zRlr9BUsZc/s1600/IMG_3934.JPG" height="400" width="360" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I added some splatters using a stamp, and mini chevron stamping for interest and texture.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and added a stamped font title, which is what the poems main message is all about, to </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>"Think You Can!"</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><u><b>Thinking</b> by Walter D. Wintle</u> </i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>If you think you are beaten, you are<br />
If you think you dare not, you don't,<br />
If you like to win, but you think you can't<br />
It is almost certain you won't.</i>
<i><br />
If you think you'll lose, you're lost<br />
For out of the world we find,<br />
Success begins with a fellow's will<br />
It's all in the state of mind.</i>
<i><br />
If you think you are outclassed, you are<br />
You've got to think high to rise,<br />
You've just got to be sure of yourself before<br />
You can ever win the prize.</i>
<i><br />
Life's battles don't always go<br />
To the stronger or faster man,<br />
But soon or late the man who wins<br />Is the one who thinks he can.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i> </i>This poem is also known as<i> <b><i>"The Man Who Thinks He Can"</i></b>. </i></div>
<br />
Isn't it a great poem, and so very true? I found it very inspirational! I really love creating pages in my Art Journal for inspiration, and positivity! I find it helps to lift me up in mood and spirit, to have profound words along with artwork I have created. It's great therapy to do, and look back through. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope you liked my page, I have more to share - I have been a bit of an art journaling fiend lately, so I will be back in a few days to share another! Thanks so much for stopping by and all of your wonderful supportive comments! </div>

<br />
Today I just wanted to quickly share two pages I made for <a href="http://journal52.com/" target="_blank"><b>Journal52</b></a>'s Art Journal challenge, Week 5 Prompt. Which was "Abstract Art". In the example on the blog, they had some pre-made abstract backgrounds painted, and then just went doodling around the shapes they could find. I decided to give this a go!<br />
<br />
In my first one, I found some city buildings, and doodled some details in with gold paint, and then white pen. Added some further paint for clouds.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBJXgoveV04K4BEd1V0QSHA3gurPXokTD4VptfG5xm5M54tmNa0uVF6V1DVMYaRTuY7-N0tokBvjj_JKVDJX44tkObLAzR3ZJ6SWR5A8HpZ4ZH4cfEHflfsALhl8I4ImlRCKCDVJvOPs8/s1600/IMG_3853.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBJXgoveV04K4BEd1V0QSHA3gurPXokTD4VptfG5xm5M54tmNa0uVF6V1DVMYaRTuY7-N0tokBvjj_JKVDJX44tkObLAzR3ZJ6SWR5A8HpZ4ZH4cfEHflfsALhl8I4ImlRCKCDVJvOPs8/s1600/IMG_3853.JPG" height="640" width="457" /></a></div>
<br />
My second page, I found a few bird shapes, so decided to embrace the birds, and doodled a few more in, and also some feathers. I cut out a quote from a book, which I think is also appropriate for today;<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibDbA7rbWDq19aBXo92sYZzLjeBPdrJlQHERTflof9bYmTjhDkacddeMoVrHtQaSmGykTxrhxL8K_Fa37kcfMJ84LA5f6Lt-W2WIv91C266DhCOq9Gd8w4i3MXwGnBhAp5AWQDdATPOAM/s1600/IMG_3842.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibDbA7rbWDq19aBXo92sYZzLjeBPdrJlQHERTflof9bYmTjhDkacddeMoVrHtQaSmGykTxrhxL8K_Fa37kcfMJ84LA5f6Lt-W2WIv91C266DhCOq9Gd8w4i3MXwGnBhAp5AWQDdATPOAM/s1600/IMG_3842.JPG" height="640" width="488" /></a></div>
<br />
So there you go, some abstract doodles. I have some more Art Journal pages to share on Monday, so I hope you'll pop by again soon! Thanks for stopping by today!<br />

Today I have two more Art Journal pages to share with you, as part of the year long challenge I am participating in, over at <a href="http://journal52.com/" target="_blank"><b>Journal52</b></a><span style="color: #0000ee;"><u>. <span style="color: #0000ee;">W</span></u></span>here we get a "prompt" each week to create with. I've already <a href="http://followthepaperbrickroad.blogspot.com.au/2014/01/mixed-media-monday-journal52.html" target="_blank"><i><b>showed you my first two pages</b></i></a> from the first two prompts. Today, here are my Third and Fourth pages;<br />
<br />
<i>Week #3's prompt was <u>"You make me Smile" </u></i><br />
I was a bit perplexed at this one, because many things make me smile - and it seemed I just didn't know where to begin! I thought and thought, breaking down the prompt to the main word of "smile" and all I could think of was the bright yellow happy smiley face from the Hippie era. Then I thought of tie-dye, and colour... and, well, I just ran with that: <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV1GmltaqdrtidOXF90AA6cIFXA3u-Izr27D3gjZblg6_FS2JHcF7gKfQfxXSsL3qpexzNl-aDm3DRGjeOwrq3Fozd9kZOd4rpvKdfbM2jQ1N8qJv_Wzr7wEu8hgGAY94LXxxCPhiKSIE/s1600/IMG_3754.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgV1GmltaqdrtidOXF90AA6cIFXA3u-Izr27D3gjZblg6_FS2JHcF7gKfQfxXSsL3qpexzNl-aDm3DRGjeOwrq3Fozd9kZOd4rpvKdfbM2jQ1N8qJv_Wzr7wEu8hgGAY94LXxxCPhiKSIE/s1600/IMG_3754.JPG" height="300" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love Hippie era things, and things from pop-culture. I also love colour. This page - although simple - actually makes me smile. For the background I used Faber-Castell Gelatos, only slightly blended, to keep with the tie-dye effect. And just yellow cardstock circles, with drawn basic smiley faces. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
***** </div>
<br />
<i>Week #4's Prompt was - <u>"Building Character"</u></i><br />
Encouraging us to draw a character, or theme a page around character traits and symbols.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMCPrC7lROxvJNc_Bup8wVPT2XZVWKvIROeZ8oKh4urI1Xbg75TQdY8goBdJ-OgCzX_nAmLB28WzLWKBlhTLjuUEgj3XX4hqPf67bMfVpqyDsIxIy1RAvRMHwfBuzBqHfJ-GZRkCfdDwQ/s1600/IMG_3796.JPG" height="640" width="480" /> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For this I decided to draw a character with the help of my Jane Davenport face Stencils. I used gelatos and big brush markers to make my face. I also decided I wanted to pop headphones on her head and have a music themed character page. I'm a big believer that Music really helps build character and identity, and affect your emotions and such. What you listen to effects how you feel, and what you think, how you act etc. Listen to all angsty bitter music, you will soon feel and act with angst and bitterness. Listen to happy pop tunes, you will feel as such. And so on and so forth.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The blue background has tone-on-tone stamping of a sheet music stamp, but it didn't come up on the pics! I also decided to add a streak of purple highlight to her fringe-hair, to add to the "character" of the face. I'm quite happy with how this girlie came out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEEo25IOGgqtAPF2YT2wodmA_PQdo3NijlNe01kOHyaAM6r1K9tJnSv716qa622n2g3WdXDmhfzm5UZi4LVoz8PGnqfhmnmy7kuMtkhk16mQVzf6FjuzsZFdBAzwc5adyKGW_SvnRsXTk/s1600/IMG_3804.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEEo25IOGgqtAPF2YT2wodmA_PQdo3NijlNe01kOHyaAM6r1K9tJnSv716qa622n2g3WdXDmhfzm5UZi4LVoz8PGnqfhmnmy7kuMtkhk16mQVzf6FjuzsZFdBAzwc5adyKGW_SvnRsXTk/s1600/IMG_3804.JPG" height="484" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
So there are my two pages for <a href="http://journal52.com/" target="_blank">Journal52</a> and my Mixed Media Monday.<br />
Thanks so much for stopping by!<br />

Hey-Hey Kids! lol! Can you believe this is the last Monday for January 2014!? I can hardly believe this year is already whizzing by so fast! But I have been keeping busy, and creating!. I have <b>3</b> pages in my Art Journal that I did this week to share with you for today's Mixed Media Monday!<br />
<br />
Let us get on with it, shall we? All pages today seem to have feminine silhouettes or imagery, as well as layers of colour and pattern. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTr1BGvSUbLccyz-sTy5UjrOZbJGjrYjP-3ytXQTtqKeM6LxwdmonkB_i5HiYxuWi58DH0t3B6rKVQ6B2mycDiVo5AlAHMlYUsCn7gyw1CcphS0iY1tdbwn5OvaU4BlFieRAh85zr-170/s1600/IMG_3756.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTr1BGvSUbLccyz-sTy5UjrOZbJGjrYjP-3ytXQTtqKeM6LxwdmonkB_i5HiYxuWi58DH0t3B6rKVQ6B2mycDiVo5AlAHMlYUsCn7gyw1CcphS0iY1tdbwn5OvaU4BlFieRAh85zr-170/s1600/IMG_3756.JPG" height="640" width="465" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm not going to go into much detail of how I made each page. Because I don't want to bore you, But if you have any questions about specifics just leave me a comment and I will respond there. I just used a Palette knife, paint, Flossie Dylusions silhouette stencil, make-up sponge. Some Dylusions sprays, and other Dylusions stencils. Printed quote, and some foam stamps, and a gel pen for doodling. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxkN4_X5x57MV9rtSuAm39NcyWcZTj272oQnfRT8sdx9vsah9gf8hT0VfA5ugMEgWIGhh_QuzqbRnN4vgIrSAc-_TwiiUVnzc9grKoW6fOHlGhan4aH2yLAmWEH1BqjVneteqIyOIvYgk/s1600/IMG_3757.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxkN4_X5x57MV9rtSuAm39NcyWcZTj272oQnfRT8sdx9vsah9gf8hT0VfA5ugMEgWIGhh_QuzqbRnN4vgIrSAc-_TwiiUVnzc9grKoW6fOHlGhan4aH2yLAmWEH1BqjVneteqIyOIvYgk/s1600/IMG_3757.JPG" height="640" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>Imperfection is under-rated.</b></i> <br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This second page I wasn't happy with at first, but I kept adding layers, pattern, and more colour. Then toning down the colours with some walnut distress stain. Which eventually made me mostly happy with the result. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7b0tE8_bRHhoblrG8JpXUiUU8CrT5vzL-4ZEpn_gkqyRSzFPJQpTd7T006lr54vFsTr8hOugDcTsSW6i46N24uFyaDk9nyIW1a7T570-rdS-4r6HywH_BPq0GtrlwU3HniJHbRBmMV7s/s1600/IMG_3760.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7b0tE8_bRHhoblrG8JpXUiUU8CrT5vzL-4ZEpn_gkqyRSzFPJQpTd7T006lr54vFsTr8hOugDcTsSW6i46N24uFyaDk9nyIW1a7T570-rdS-4r6HywH_BPq0GtrlwU3HniJHbRBmMV7s/s1600/IMG_3760.JPG" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this quote after the page was done, but felt it matched well with the shadowy tones and and because I felt it needed something more.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxsrCv9KRe0_co7ZQQS7HQeCZHCdzC_cwkwzIWQh_0rlLb_qTioAvNkpRG4NtyNqhHA8w8b2ghswdOLJxi3bJkZ470Mkh7YxDgm7NT5yftl6bZplGPhp5WLUY_7ces_-yKaeY3YMX7KLk/s1600/IMG_3761.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxsrCv9KRe0_co7ZQQS7HQeCZHCdzC_cwkwzIWQh_0rlLb_qTioAvNkpRG4NtyNqhHA8w8b2ghswdOLJxi3bJkZ470Mkh7YxDgm7NT5yftl6bZplGPhp5WLUY_7ces_-yKaeY3YMX7KLk/s1600/IMG_3761.JPG" height="515" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i> "Never feat shadows. They simply mean there's a light shining somewhere nearby."</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYnb0TTZR0W5eQsbyck0Hb5_-T3eKTulR9xTmtfAgeWJkZuFRc3jiGWshw3-KtnCADDP0jpYrfmfVSIHckcCWENh8zuJXyh2RFIZIdkntdroebTV2RNFpt5e1u5nBn-5UgJ_0XFmRqJRM/s1600/IMG_3762.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYnb0TTZR0W5eQsbyck0Hb5_-T3eKTulR9xTmtfAgeWJkZuFRc3jiGWshw3-KtnCADDP0jpYrfmfVSIHckcCWENh8zuJXyh2RFIZIdkntdroebTV2RNFpt5e1u5nBn-5UgJ_0XFmRqJRM/s1600/IMG_3762.JPG" height="456" width="640" /></a></div>
I used paints, sponges, distress stain in walnut, Balzer Designs Silhouette script head stencil, hexagon and zig-zag stencils and white Mr Huey spray.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This third one was done on a smaller Art Journal I have - all are usually A4-Letter Size, this one is half of that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh0_nFrnzBAiX3Z4FvQZ9jYizwRmXCAf31-qC7VDn8jp4cH9x7q264Yzf2-Z3lYTRFeAQhAeEhaY6XG9Axty8SJ7kFLa4sLbsj4epO_7Rec4ywHCufTmcp6frnF339e3WiJYcA8t_0aeE/s1600/IMG_3764.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhh0_nFrnzBAiX3Z4FvQZ9jYizwRmXCAf31-qC7VDn8jp4cH9x7q264Yzf2-Z3lYTRFeAQhAeEhaY6XG9Axty8SJ7kFLa4sLbsj4epO_7Rec4ywHCufTmcp6frnF339e3WiJYcA8t_0aeE/s1600/IMG_3764.JPG" height="436" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used more paints, love the thickness and texture these give, I just got them from a cheap shop, but they are really thick, great for going through stencils, which is what I did here. Lattice Stencil, Zig-Zag Stencil, White Mr Huey spray, chipboard, crackle glaze for the heart, and some walnut stain to define the crackles. Tissue paper and staz on with the PaperBag Studios stamp girl called Sunshine Girl. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijk9ODUnITtpEMdnjis9NSyWfq7S1ayE8tc2LXYmUjyypEyjzA90IMWZKkW1bqtnY1-4vC8US2_t8r4-VgkxIXAZW3de0UbvQckqu0lWo78n2vXMYD8HnxlB2UECAP9Stc-VVqElF_DYM/s1600/IMG_3770.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijk9ODUnITtpEMdnjis9NSyWfq7S1ayE8tc2LXYmUjyypEyjzA90IMWZKkW1bqtnY1-4vC8US2_t8r4-VgkxIXAZW3de0UbvQckqu0lWo78n2vXMYD8HnxlB2UECAP9Stc-VVqElF_DYM/s1600/IMG_3770.JPG" height="305" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Time to share some pics I've taken over the last few weeks with a Photo Friday post! Since I haven't done one in a while. Funnily enough, all of these pics are Outdoor ones! Who said I was agoraphobic and didn't get out much!? lol! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First some beach pics from my area: These were all taken on dull cloud covered days, where the only signs of life on the beach were some hungry seagulls.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Through the last few weeks we also have done some gardening work, and here is a caterpillar critter I came across, and had to get a pic of. Caught it in our Gardenia bush; </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/6ef7f0c67b1d11e38b6e0ec76862db63_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/6ef7f0c67b1d11e38b6e0ec76862db63_8.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Google says this is a <span class="commentbody">black gardenia bee hawk moth caterpillar, so will turn into a Moth. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="commentbody">Here is a fly I was trying to get a close-up of - it's always fun to test the camera settings out, as long as your subject keeps still! </span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span class="commentbody">Here are some flowers from our Garden as well; Firstly Frangipani (Plumeria) flowers:</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Summer is fully underway here in Oz, with lots of hot humid weather, bright glaring sunshine, thunderstorms, and extreme heat and humdity across the country. We always keep our outdoor bird bath in our garden filled up, to help the wild birds beat the heat!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br />Here are just two visitors I've seen about lately, making use of the fresh water in the heat of the day;<a href="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/cedd4b92819611e38229123c760e532b_8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://distilleryimage7.s3.amazonaws.com/cedd4b92819611e38229123c760e532b_8.jpg" /></a> These are Magpie Larks, otherwise known as PeeWees. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
and last but not least -</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
a pic that isn't very clear because I had to zoom it up even after I took it - but hopefully it gives you an idea! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
A blue-faced honey eater, which is a bird I hadn't ever seen before! It was very beautiful! A bright Blue face as the name suggests, and an almost golden olive green coated backm with black head, and white underbelly! Really impressive and the pic doesn't do it justice.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here it was contorting his body about on a Bird of Paradise plant;</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I have started taking part in a new Art Journaling challenge happening at <a href="http://journal52.com/" target="_blank"><b>Journal52</b></a>, Where for each week of the year, there will be a journal "prompt" that we are to use to create a page from.<br />
<br />
I know it can often be a struggle to stare at a blank page and not know what to do with it, so having an idea in mind, like these prompts, to be inspired by can really assist the creative process. There is also a lot of inspiration in the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/738984112797994/" target="_blank">Journal52 Facebook Group. </a><br />
<br />
Here are the two pages I have completed so far, for these challenges. <br />
<br />
Week #1's Prompt was: <i>"Up Up and Away"</i><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Ci1gH-K11xQJCH6esMLbcF5NkOFr5RgJRVqJpryEHFqpn5tRM2yjScNgD3ymMwdmKgpgHr9VfUrcA5uvy80YkD_ZH_zkhS3RkdZcH1Wt4-ExeARIPFjYqcsqkSTAP6smvOzsJdTNZsk/s1600/IMG_3611.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Ci1gH-K11xQJCH6esMLbcF5NkOFr5RgJRVqJpryEHFqpn5tRM2yjScNgD3ymMwdmKgpgHr9VfUrcA5uvy80YkD_ZH_zkhS3RkdZcH1Wt4-ExeARIPFjYqcsqkSTAP6smvOzsJdTNZsk/s1600/IMG_3611.JPG" height="400" width="355" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As soon as I heard this, I thought of super heroes, and the whole "It's a
bird! It's a Plane!" bit. But I wanted to use female super heroes
instead of Superman, for a bit of female empowerment. So I found these
two cute chibi/manga-esque super girl and wonder woman online, at a <a href="http://printablecolouringpages.co.uk/?s=supergirl%20%20pictures&page=1" target="_blank">colouring page site</a>, and printed them out and coloured them in, and fussy cut them out for my page.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My background is pretty basic, using two different blue Dylusion sprays, to make it sky-like, and I then popped down a Dylusions stencil I had in my stash as well, its a sort of warped checkered pattern, and I just spritz it with water and went over with a paper towel to make a ghosted impression of the stencil, to act as the super gals flight trails. Just added some starry stamps for the border and added a bit of glitter glue, stuck my girlies down, and journalled in the prompt with the White Tim Holtz Distress Marker, which bleaches out where you write. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It is pretty simply, but I like how it came out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4Ci1gH-K11xQJCH6esMLbcF5NkOFr5RgJRVqJpryEHFqpn5tRM2yjScNgD3ymMwdmKgpgHr9VfUrcA5uvy80YkD_ZH_zkhS3RkdZcH1Wt4-ExeARIPFjYqcsqkSTAP6smvOzsJdTNZsk/s1600/IMG_3611.JPG" height="640" width="568" /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Week #2's Prompt was: <i>"Somewhere, a simple place"</i> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLmA2jqGEz1xziTWtagepi4WH9HPgOJDspI432r41nJ5KHu2b8MpgcGZJMkO3FVPndlDFpwa_GyfqP1Lli51so7Q_ClwCw1DGuCco0lqKtNSgFFHubQqUcxZMAvyoFvbTC-tJAWe0WWTY/s1600/IMG_3696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLmA2jqGEz1xziTWtagepi4WH9HPgOJDspI432r41nJ5KHu2b8MpgcGZJMkO3FVPndlDFpwa_GyfqP1Lli51so7Q_ClwCw1DGuCco0lqKtNSgFFHubQqUcxZMAvyoFvbTC-tJAWe0WWTY/s1600/IMG_3696.JPG" height="400" width="317" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Being an avid Wizard of Oz fan, I was reminded of the Land of Oz for this prompt and in particular the song from the film "Somewhere over the rainbow". So I decided to just do a simple sky and rainbow in freehand, which I coloured with Faber Castell Gelatos. Outlined with black pitt big brush marker pen. Added a little bit of glitter here and there, as well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'm not 100% happy with how this came out, but it's good to just be able to make something in my art journal and know it doesn't have to be perfect, as long as it means something to me, that's all that matters. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLmA2jqGEz1xziTWtagepi4WH9HPgOJDspI432r41nJ5KHu2b8MpgcGZJMkO3FVPndlDFpwa_GyfqP1Lli51so7Q_ClwCw1DGuCco0lqKtNSgFFHubQqUcxZMAvyoFvbTC-tJAWe0WWTY/s1600/IMG_3696.JPG" height="640" width="507" /> </div>
<br />
So I will hop on over to all of your fabulous blogs tonight, and I hope you all have had a terrific weekend and will continue to have a terrific new week ahead!<br />
<br />
